The Beginning: 2016

It started when my mom told me I could not come back to our small town during a summer in college. She wanted more for me than to be stuck in a town of 9,000. We adore this town, but she also knew my wanderlust spirit could not be there.

I set out for one summer to the UK. I was in Northern Wales for 2 and a half months. There I was introduced to culture shock, nostalgia, and also homesickness. But my eyes were forever opened to what life could look like outside of my home state.

I am a born and raised Southern Lady, but since that summer of 2015 I wanted to go anywhere and everywhere. So, today, I find myself in a country that is smaller than my home state, but packed full of culture.

Portugal is where I currently call home. Lisbon is a thriving capital city where dreams are chased and lots of good food is eaten. I wanted to start this blog for the sole purpose of remembering journeys, meals, and experiences I had in my life.

However you came about my page, I hope you enjoy and see how incredible life can be if you open up your expectations and starting enjoying not enduring.
